NEWLY LAUNCHED BIKE TOURS
Aviation, agriculture, industry, design, and the swinging 1920s. This is the origin story of the City of Opa-locka, Miami-Dade County's eighth oldest municipality located in the northern part of the county just south of Miami Gardens.
The bike tour, presented by the Opa-locka Preservation Association, starts at the very beginning of Opa-locka's founding. From the days of American aviator Glenn Curtiss purchasing land for the benefit of conservation, then to be developed into a uniquely themed city, to the military's presence at the Opa-locka Airport.
Tours are FREE and take place in the airport and downtown areas, lasting approximately two (2) hours. All guests are asked to wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and MUST sign a waiver in advance of their arrival OR day-of.
Tours begin promptly at 11 a.m. on their scheduled dates, with all tours beginning at the Opa-locka Tri-Rail Station located at 480 Ali Baba Avenue, Opa-locka, Fla. 33054
Visitors to Opa-locka will be presented with an exclusive discount to a local business in the city at the end of the tour.
