About this event

Get Ready to Ride! Free Assistance with Bicycle Maintenance

Pleae note: if the reserved spots are sold out, you can still bring your bike for first come first serve help as space allows.

Where: Snug Harbor School, 333 Palmer Street, Quincy MA

When: Saturday June 8, 2024 - 1pm to 4pm

Do you have a bicycle with a flat, a rattle, squeaky brakes, or some other issue that is preventing you from riding? Would you like to learn to address it and get your bike ready to ride?

Join us on June 8th - Quincycles volunteers will help you get your bicycle ready to ride!

Event Details: Volunteers will provide free assistance to you to help get your bicycle on the road again.

Assistance will be managed on a first-come first serve basis. Walk-ins welcome, but guarantee your spot by signing up for a time slot and send us an email to let us know what the problems are with your bike.

Our volunteers are not professional bike mechanics and cannot assist with major repairs. If an issue is beyond our volunteers' knowledge, we will refer you to local bike shops.

Quincycles volunteers will have experience, tools, tire pumps, and bicycle stands.

Quincycles will have a limited supply of parts on hand. If you know the part you need (e.g., correct tube size), then you are encouraged to bring the parts with you to ensure that the proper part is available for your bike. If you are not sure, ask us before the event.

Bicycle owners (you!) will be performing repairs on their own bicycles with assistance from experienced volunteers. Owners are responsible for their repairs. We want to empower you by sharing our knowledge.

Sponsored by Quincycles, a volunteer resident-run non-profit that advocates for bicycle infrastructure on our city streets and promotes responsible bicycling as a means of transportation, recreation, and exercise in Quincy.
