Event description
Join Ann Quinn in celebrating National Poetry Month with this poetry workshop.

About this Event

Short poems can reverberate in the mind and memory like a pebble dropped in a lake. Let’s look at some powerful short poems together to come up with strategies for writing our own little gems, and then write them! This workshop is appropriate for both experienced poets and for intrigued people who aren’t poets yet.

About the teaching artist: Ann Quinn was born in Monterey, California, to a naval pilot father and a Presbyterian minister mother. Her degrees are in music performance; she fell in love with poetry in mid-life. Her chapbook, Final Deployment, is published by Finishing Line Press, and her poems appear in many journals and in the anthology Red Sky: Poetry on the Global Epidemic of Violence Against Women. She is the poetry editor for Yellow Arrow Journal and conducts workshops at The Writer’s Center, for Yellow Arrow Publishing, and at writer’s conferences. Ann holds an M.F.A. in poetry from Pacific Lutheran University and lives in Catonsville, Maryland with her family. Visit her at www.annquinn.net.

Scholarships are available for this workshop along with alternative payment methods. Learn more or be in touch at MoonLitDC.com.
