On Saturday 27th July, I will be guiding a small group up the iconic ‘Old Man of Coniston’.
Taking the path less travelled to ensure you get the full Lakeland experience.
This a rightly famous and classic Lake District fell, one of the most popular Wainwrights to tick off and a challenging ascent for anyone!
I have been up the 'old man' many times, and I love it. It has everything, views onto Scafell Pike our highest mountain in England, stunningly rugged terrain and beautiful crystal clear mountain tarns (lakes).
This day will be for you if;
- you want a challenging adventure in the Lake District taking in some of our most famous and breathtaking fells.
- you are keen to enjoy the beauty of these stunning mountains but don't feel confident yet to tackle them on your own - I am a qualified Mountain Leader with years of experience in these wild mountains.
- you'd like to learn some of the basics of map reading and navigation to start building the skills to get out on your own.
- you have a decent fitness level and are up for an adventure!
We will be going the long way to avoid the crowds and take the path less trodden but keep all the glory of some of the most stunning walking we have here.
The day will be approximately 6hrs of walking depending on weather, fitness levels and how long we spend gawping at the scenery! You will need to bring your own food, water and spare clothing (more details once you sign up).
This will be a solid day in the hills, you’ll need a decent fitness level and be keen to spend a full day outside working hard and having fun.
It will be an 0730 meet for an 0800 start.
This walk will be capped at a maximum of 5 people to ensure you get the best experience possible.
