BIDMC- Remote/LIVE 4 hour Birth class-new dates always being added

This class is for families who do not want / or are unable to attend class in person, but still want to participate in a live class with opportunity to ask questions in real time ( and hear questions of the other participants)Just tune in when it is time for class. Participate as much or as little as you want. Please note that there are no take home materials given to participants of the "Remote", and there are no materials that we email or mail to you at the end of class. You can take notes, or even screen shots of the presentation throughout the day as needed.

This comprehensive 4 hour class is taught by our RN Certified Childbirth Educators and is designed to provide first time parents with the information needed to prepare for their upcoming labor and birth. We will use a combination of Powerpoint, DVD clips and some hands on techniques to practice. Topics covered include:

• stages of labor and when to call the doctor
• comfort strategies including natural methods as well as epidurals and pain medicine
• vaginal birth, c/section and potential interventions
• postpartum- what to expect in the hospital and home
• We will review what supplies you need to have for home.
• We will review when to call your OB, where to go and what to expect with our latest in support persons, visitor policy and masking guidelines.

Please note that this is a four hour class, and no lunch/dinner break is provided. We do take short bathroom breaks( about every hour), but feel free to eat and drink during class as needed. Your camera/sound will be muted, but you can type a question in the chat box whenever you would like .

As this is a live/remote class, you will have an opportunity to interact and ask questions. Either privately or to the group.

When you complete your registration, you will receive the link to sign in at time of class.

All correspondence regarding class will be sent to the email used to register.

INSURANCE-

Be sure to check with your insurance provider, a portion of this class may be able to be submitted for reimbursement. We will provide you with a certificate of completion that includes CPT codes and Tax payer ID number that you can submit on your own.. You will also need the receipt from Eventbrite , so be sure to print it out!

Please note: a "certificate of completion" will be sent to the email that was used to register for the class , after the class is completed. You will need this and the receipt for the amount you paid to purchase the class( from Eventbrite) to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Cancelation Policy-

A minimum of four participants are required to hold a class. If this is not met, the class will be canceled . If your class is canceled, you will be issued a refund or can be asked to transfer into a different date of there is space available.

If you need to cancel, you must do so48 hrs before your scheduled class or you will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee.
