The Academy of Scoring Arts is proud to partner with Audio Modeling on a unique event exploring their virtual instruments. Audio Modeling's classic SWAM engine models the physical behavior of acoustic instruments in real time, so phrasing, dynamics, and articulation respond to the performance as it happens — no keyswitches or round-robin roulette. The team will demo their newest releases, including PolySWAM — their first polyphonic instrument, developed with Latin GRAMMY-winning producer Emanuele Ruffinengo — which extends that same responsiveness from solo lines to full ensembles for sketching and live performance. Expect a hands-on look at how the technology works, where it fits in a scoring workflow, and what physical modeling can do. 

After the discussion, we’ll be announcing the details of a composition contest in partnership with Audio Modeling. Anyone who enters will receive a temporary license covering the entire Audio Modeling suite: the SWAM Orchestra Bundle, PolySWAM, and AMBIENTE. The winner will receive a perpetual license of the full SWAM suite, valued over $2000!
