Join us for Beyond the Frame: XA Showcase 2025, a screening and celebration of remarkable projects created by students in the USC Expanded Animation Research + Practice (XA) MFA Thesis class! In addition to these visionary thesis projects, the showcase also includes a curated selection of animation produced by current XA students.
Works created in the XA program span a broad spectrum of genres and techniques, including character and experimental animation, traditional and non-linear narrative, documentary, stop motion, motion capture, VR, 2D, 3D, and handmade animation.
The 60-minute screening begins at 1:00PM in the elegant, state-of-the-art Eileen Norris Cinema Theatre on the USC campus. Following the screening, please join us for a catered reception directly outside the theater in Queen’s Courtyard.

All filmmakers, family members, friends, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests must RSVP in order to attend this free event.
When selecting your ticket, please use the correct ticket code. All those registered as "MSI sponsors," "Non-USC" and "USC Alumni" will receive an email with a link to a QR code by May 16th, which they will present with their valid photo ID when going through the security entrances to enter campus.

Paid parking is available in the Royal St. or Jefferson Blvd. parking structures for $20.50 per day. (Marked V on the map). Present your ID card and QR code when parking.
Free off-campus street parking is available near the north side of campus. Look for street parking on McClintock St. and Jefferson St. Non-USC guests should enter campus at the Customer Service Tents (blue stars on the map) at Jefferson and Watt Way or Jefferson and Trousdale.
Walk along 34th St. to Watt Way. Walk south on Watt Way to 35th St, turn left, and follow the winding path to Queens Courtyard and Norris Theatre.
