About this event

The National Institute of Nursing Research Division of Intramural Research (NINR DIR) invites first-generation college students to participate in “Beyond the Bedside: Discovering Nursing Research Careers at NIH”. This inaugural experience emphasizes research that focuses on social determinants of health and health equity (two of NINR’s research lenses). Our intramural research program is committed to providing world-class training opportunities to build the next generation of scientists, where the nursing perspective plays a central role in novel discoveries that inform practice and policy.

As one of 27 Institutes and Centers at the National Institutes of Health, NINR’s mission is to lead nursing research to solve pressing health challenges and inform practice and policy – optimizing health and advancing health equity into the future. Please use the "reserve a spot" button and complete the questionnaire to indicate your interest in participating in this event.

NINR DIR will use your responses to select participants for a limited number of spots in the program. All applicants will receive an email notification of selection decisions by September 30, 2023.

Local transportation reimbursement (parking, metro fare, etc.) is available for participants residing within 50 miles of the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD.
