Because this is a nation-wide issue, The Graduates have reached out to Sisters who have experienced incarceration first hand and are on the front lines of creating change. Women such as Susan Burton (A New Way of Life: Reentry Project), Kathy Boudin (Center for Justice at Columbia University), Susan Rosenberg (Author, Political Prisoner in My Own Country—A Prison Memoir), Topeka Sam (SOROS Justice Fellow and Executive Director of Ladies of Hope Ministries), Andrea James (Founder of Families for Justice as Healing), and Rhodessa Jones (The Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women), to name a few.
 The Graduates areco-created and co-sponsored by ArtSpot Productions & Kumbuka African Drum & Dance Collective. The Graduates are Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Artist as Activist Fellows, and are supported in part by grants from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Alternate ROOTS Partners in Action Program, made possible by support from The Nathan Cummings Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Surdna Foundation.  Additional support for the Beyond Incarceration Summit has been provided by St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
The Beyond Incarceration Summit is open to the general public ages 15 years and older. 
 
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
You can access the St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church via the streetcar which passes directly in front of the Church. The Tombar LIfe Center is located on 1683 N. Claiborne Avenue on a major avenue accessible via bus lines.
What can I bring into the event?
We will provide refreshments, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The event is free but donations are encouraged.
