About this event

  • 1 hour

The Benchmarking 101 Training is designed for building owners who have never benchmarked their building’s energy use before. This training will walk building owners through the benchmarking process from start to end and will have a limited time for questions at the end.

You will learn how to benchmark using ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® and how to submit a benchmarking report to the City and make sure you are in compliance.

This training will help building owners comply with Fort Collins Building Energy and Water Scoring, as well as provide information around:

  • What is benchmarking and why is it important,
  • The benchmarking process and the specific requirements of the BEWS Program
  • How to benchmark using ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®, and
  • How to submit a benchmarking report and make sure you are in compliance.

Unsure if this requirement applies to you? To find out if a building you own or manage is covered by Building Energy and Water Scoring, please use this tool to look up your building’s address and its corresponding ID. If you own a building that is 5,000 square feet or larger and don’t see it, please contact our Help Center at buildingscoring@fcgov.com.

The Building Energy and Water Scoring program requires transparency of energy and water efficiency of commercial and multifamily buildings 5,000 square feet and above. Comparing the energy and water performance of one building against another in the same sector allows commercial real estate stakeholders such as building owners, operators, and tenants, to evaluate the highest-performing, lowest-operating cost option, and to monitor their performance in the market place.
