About this event

  • 3 hours 30 minutes

Belly Dance Stories is a year-long multimedia project dedicated to sharing narratives of every-day women whose lives are touched by Raks Sharqi, the Art of Belly Dance.

Under the guidance and direction of Alexandra Molina and Valerick Molinary, our initiative stands as a distinctive vehicle for women's empowerment, seeking to forge a deeper connection between performers and audiences while fostering compassion and dialogue.

Our third multimedia theater production titled Myth of the Feminine combines rich storytelling through audio recordings, video art and performance to tell the many tales of what "femininity" means to each performer. Join us for this compelling, evocative and one-of-a-kind experience.

Fantasy Theatre Factory (FTF) is a 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit Theater, established in 1978 and incorporated in 1982. FTF is the managing operator of the Sandrell Rivers Theater (SRT), a state of the art black box theater in Miami. FTF also has an extensive, state-wide and international touring operation.

With over 35 years of excellence in the arts, Fantasy Theatre Factory is the gold standard for professional theater in South Florida. FTF places its greatest programmatic emphasis on Theater for Young Audiences (TYA); FTF TYA programs utilize professional adult performers who provide quality cultural programming for children and family audiences. FTF's TYA programs place a primary focus on childhood literacy and ecology. Other focus areas of programming include: fitness, history, diversity, self esteem, peer pressure and bullying prevention. FTF also produces cultural arts workshop residency programs that serve at-risk youth, children with disabilities and general population students.

In addition to its TYA programming, FTF also offers a robust programming lineup for general populations, featuring something for everyone with its diverse new programs at the Sandrell Rivers Theater, including a bi-monthly film screening series entitled Film@SRT; a bi-monthly live music series entitled Music@SRT; an art exhibition series, which aims to provide South Florida artists with greater exposure and visibility entitled Art@SRT; and a new play competition, where playwrights can have their new works performed as staged readings in front of live audiences, entitled New Year, New Works! (NYNW).

FTF also provides theater rentals at the Sandrell Rivers Theater, for diverse community organizations to perform and present in. The Sandrell Rivers Theater has three beautiful performance spaces, the Main Stage Black Box Theater, the Dance Rehearsal Studio and the Multipurpose Room; these state-of-the-art, diverse spaces provide spaces for companies of any size budget.

FTF also produces world class special event entertainment. FTF specialty acts include: jugglers, stilt-walkers, magicians, balloon artists, uni-cyclists, puppeteers, giant puppets, strolling interactive characters and much more more!

Each year FTF produces well over 500 programs which reach over 150,000 people all across South Florida, the entire state and internationally.
