About this event

BeIT Meetup Panel discussion: "Will machines replace us?"

Artificial intelligence may sound like something that came from the future, but it is already widely present in the modern world. There is still a big difference between today’s artificial intelligence and that is shown in movies that explore the boundaries between human and artificial intelligence and predict the future with devices that are more intelligent than humans. However, Professor Russell, founder of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Compatible with Humans at the University of California, said most experts believe machines more intelligent than humans will be developed in this century.

If you are intrigued by everything related to artificial intelligence, and machine learning, this is a great event for you!

Who are the lecturers?

• Prof. Dr. Mirsad Hadžikadić - Director of Analytical Programs in the field of Analytics at all colleges of the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of information technology. Dr. Hadžikadić was the director of Medical Informatics and Orthopedic Informatics in the Carolinas Healthcare System organization from 1991 to 1997 and the manager in the Deloitte and Touche Consulting organization in 1998. He became Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science in 1998 and Founding Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology in 2000 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Ten years ago, he became the founding director of the Institute for Complex Systems in 2008.

• Prof. Dr. Bahrudin Hrnjica received his Ph.D. in Bihać in the field of fracture mechanics, numerical analysis, and mathematical modeling. Employed at the Technical Faculty as an assistant professor in the field of general mechanical engineering. In addition to his academic career, he has been working in the field of software development on Microsoft technologies for more than 15 years. In the field of production organization, he implemented several information systems that are today the backbone of the development of several companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as a member of the development team, he worked on projects and software solutions for some of the most famous European companies. He is the author of several open-source projects, the most important being GPdotNET - a tool for modeling, prediction and optimization, and linear programming using the methods of genetic algorithm, genetic programming and artificial neural networks.
