About this event

  • 35 days 1 hour

Please join us for our spring Sunday series where we delve into a core theme for those of us on the Sufi path—What does it mean to be in the world yet not of the world?

All are invited—from brand new students to longtime practitioners—to join Pir Zia for this six-part series where vital topics like joy, death, incarnation, romance, balance, and the pain of life will be illuminated through the teachings of the Sufi mystic, Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927). All classes are fully on Zoom, with no in-person option this semester. Also, please note that classes will be shorter than before, for 1 hour 15 minutes, to better fit into life.

This special, experimental course is held Sundays, April 14th through May 19th, at 11 am PDT (San Francisco), 2 pm EDT (New York), and 8 pm CET (Paris). You can find your local time using timeanddate.com or your favorite time zone converter. Here are our weekly topics:

April 14th—Enjoying the World

  • How do we find the cosmos in the worldly life?

April 21st—Living with the Dead

  • How do we keep good relations with the deceased?

April 28th—Incarnation

  • How do we reclaim our soul’s mission?

May 5th—Romance

  • How do we know if romance is alive or dead?

May 12th—Balance

  • How do we walk life’s tightrope?

May 19th—The Flame of Pain

  • How do we cook, and not burn, the heart?

Please join us in real time, via Zoom, the day of each class, or watch the video after. Pre-registration is required to receive the video.
