Beginning Wheel Throwing
Learn to throw! This 8-week beginner pottery class builds essential wheel-throwing skills. Perfect for new and seasoned beginners.
7 Weeks -Class Dates: 4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26, 2026
Instructor: Amanda
We will be learning the basics of working with clay on the pottery wheel. Projects may include cups, vases, bowls, and plates, but your creative ideas are welcomed! Students will also learn how to transform their work into finished pieces by practicing trimming techniques, attaching handles, and applying glaze.
Clay washes off, but the memories don’t—so wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. Although this is a beginning-level class, all skill levels are welcome to sign up. Clay and all tools are provided by Paducah School of Art and Design.
