Summer Ukulele Class for the absolute beginner.
Come join us for Beginning Ukulele Lessons at the Forest Gate Community Garden!
Whether you're a complete beginner, looking refresh long forgotten skills, or would like to come and show support and sing along, this event is perfect for you. We'll start with the basics of playing this fun and versatile instrument and will be able to sing and strum along to your favorite songs in no time!
Where: Forest Gate Community Garden
When: Sundays from June 14, 2026 – August 30, 2026
12:30pm – 2pm.
Who: Ages 9+ (children under 12 will need parent/guardian supervision)
Miss the start of the course? No problem we're still accepting new registrations.
20 ukuleles will be on hand to use but those signing up in advance for the course will be given preference to available instruments.
Every week we'll learn new chords and/or strumming techniques and build upon the skills from the previous week so the earlier you start attending and the more frequently you attend, the more skilled you'll be by the end of the Summer!
If you have a ukulele and would like to join us for a refresher course, register to let me know you're coming.
If you would just like to come and enjoy a sing-a-long in the garden please join us.
You do not need to know how to read music.
The Forest Gate Community Garden is equipped with accessibility paths for those with mobility needs.
Photographs and video are often taken during these sessions that could be used for promotional or marketing purposes for further funding so we can continue to offer programming at no cost to the participant. Registering for this class means you consent to your photo/video being taken and used for these purposes.
Beginning Ukulele Classes with Misty Dampier are possible with generous public funding by Arts Council England with National Lottery Project Grants.
