Beginning Knitting

The Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati, Inc. was created in 1948 as a non-profit educational organization to promote interest in handweaving. Today, the Guild offers education in a wide range of fiber processes and techniques, including weaving, felting, spinning, basketry, knitting, and dyeing. Guild members are from the Cincinnati metropolitan area and surrounding communities, as well as from Kentucky and Indiana.Members range in experience from beginners to professionals. All benefit from the Guild's priorities: education through classes, workshops, programs, study groups; sharing information and fiber techniques with other members and community groups; and promoting and supporting local fiber producers and businesses.After 50 years of meeting in various churches throughout Greater Cincinnati, the Guild has its own home at 4870 Gray Road in Spring Grove Village.

Learn to knit, purl, cast on and cast off in two sessions.

<h3>Beginning Knitting</h3>Tuesdays, September 7 &amp; September 146-8pm (both days)Instructor: Karen AndersonCost: $50 per personMaterials fee: $15Skill level: Total beginner. Appropriate for all ages; ages 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult.Class limit: 8Learn this timeless craft skill in the beautiful home of the Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati. You&#x27;ll learn the basics of knitting: the knit stitch and purl stitch, casting on and casting off. You&#x27;ll leave this class ready to start your creative knitting jouney.Your materials fee includes knitting needles, yarn, yarn needle, and tote bag. Students should bring scissors and note taking materials.Effective August 26, 2021For everyone’s safety, you are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and to wear a mask when inside the Guild House.Questions about the class? Three registrations are required for a class to be held. Students will be notified before the start date if a class is canceled due to an insufficient number of students. Eventbrite processing and credit card payment fees will not be refunded if a student cancels for any reason.
