About this event

  • 1 hour

Research has proven that weight-bearing exercises can be an effective way to help prevent osteoperosis and help stimulate bone health in people with the disease. But jumping into a strength class can be intimidating and sometimes discouraging. This specially designed yoga flow uses light weights and is geared toward the beginner student. You will be carefully guided with a slow and mindful approach targeting specific areas most prone to age related issues such as the shoulders, arms, legs, hips and spine. If practiced regularly, this class is designed to help slow or prevent bone loss and improve blood flow which is beneficial to the heart too. Of course, you always have the option to skip the weights – you will still build strength! At the end of class, enjoy deep relaxing stretches and a well deserved savasana.

Please arrive ten minutes prior to class.

Please note this class does not replace or offer medical advice. Every body is different and osteoperosis may present itself differently in you requiring certain constraints or modifications. Always consult your medical team to ensure this practice is safe for you.
