Beginner knitting classes -making handwarmers - Thursdays

6-7:30pm on Thursdays

A cosy, comfortable, and calming hands-on beginner knitting series where you learn to knit your own pair of hand warmers while giving your mind space to slow down. Come sit by the fire, sink into a comfortable chair, sip some tea, and learn to knit.

No experience necessary, all materials included. You will receive step-by step guidance in a relaxed, supportive environment.Instruction is gentle and patient and the focus is on unwinding, restoring, relaxing and learning to knit.

Choose from a selection of Australian and Italian yarns in various colours. High quality rainbow bamboo knitting needles by knitpro are yours to take home.

Classes are held in my spacious, high-ceiling living room with a selection of colourful seating by a grand fireplace.

My name is Timi, I am an experienced knitter/Teacher/Social Worker/Art Therapist and owner of Rowan Tree House creative wellbeing.

Skills you will learn:

Knit stitch (garter stitch)

how to read a pattern/

How to read a yarn label (select yarn/needle size)

Purl stitch,

how to create ribbing

casting off (finishing)

casting on

sewing up the handwarmers

troubleshooting (how to recover a dropped stitch)

By the end of the series you will have all you need to finish off your own set of cosy handwarmers. You will have two styles to choose from (pictured) and an assortment of yarn colours to choose from as well.

Materials included:

Yarn, knit pro bamboo knitting needles (fine quality knitting needles), and a pattern

Pricing:

$70 for intro session with materials included

$40 for each additional session
