beginner handbuilding class
Overview
This two-hour beginner ceramics class is a hands-on introduction to working with clay, perfect for first-time students or anyone looking to explore ceramics in a relaxed, supportive setting. Students will learn the basics of handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots, coils, and simple slab construction while gaining an understanding of clay preparation and tool use.
All materials are provided, including clay, tools, glazing, and firings. Students will create one to two small pieces during class, which will be dried, fired, and glazed by the studio after the session. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup in approximately 2–4 weeks.
No prior experience is required. Just come ready to get a little messy and have fun while learning the fundamentals of ceramics.
