🌿 Beginner Foraging Walk — This Saturday!

Saturday | 12:30–1:30ish PM

South Louisville • Family‑Friendly • Slow‑Paced

Hey y'all! Come join me for a gentle half‑mile beginner foraging hike where we’ll explore the plants growing right in our own backyard. This walk is perfect for anyone who has ever wondered, “What is this plant?” or wanted to feel more confident identifying the edible and medicinal species around them.

🌱 What We’ll Cover

During our walk, we’ll move at an easy, unhurried pace and learn:

How to observe leaf arrangement and other simple ID clues

Basic botanical terms that make plant identification easier

How to safely begin foraging in your own neighborhood

The edible, medicinal, and ecological roles of the plants we meet along the path

This is a supportive, beginner‑friendly space — no experience needed. Just curiosity and comfortable shoes.

🌼 Who This Is For

Families, Total beginners, Folks wanting to reconnect with nature,

Anyone who wants to learn how to identify common plants with confidence.

🌞 Sliding Scale Pricing

I want this walk to be accessible while still honoring the time, preparation, & plant knowledge I bring.

Sliding scale: $15–$35 per person

Choose the rate that feels right for your circumstances.

$15 — Supported Rate

For community members who need a little help to attend.

$25 — Standard Rate

Covers my time, materials, and preparation.

$35 — Community Supporter Rate

Helps support someone who needs the lower tier and keeps future events accessible.

Children can attend at no cost & must have a (ticketed) parent or guardian with them at all times. No one will be turned away for lack of funds — just message me privately if you need a different arrangement

**I have had tremendous interest in these events, to keep this a cozy, supportive learning space where everyone can ask questions and be heard, I’m capping this group at 20 participants.**

🌳 What to Bring

Comfortable walking shoes, Water, Notebook (optional)

An open heart and a curious mind

🌸 Where We’ll Meet

Jefferson Memorial Forest

I’ll send the exact meeting spot after registration to keep the group manageable and the location protected.

Please, keep in mind, we will not be harvesting any plants, just identifying them.

Hope to see y'all there!!
