Beginner eBird: Esther Simplot Park

Golden Eagle Audubon is dedicated to birding, wildlife education, cultivating native plants, habitat conservation, advocacy for birds, and more. As the Southwest Idaho chapter of the National Audubon Society, we offer birding trips for all ages, monthly educational presentations, community science programs, and work on the conservation and restoration of public lands. Most of our programs are free and open to the public as part of our commitment to serving the community. Join the Golden Eagle Audubon as we bird Esther Simplot Park and go over some e-bird basics.

To secure a place at this event, registration is required. Please make sure ALL fields are filled out on the registration form and a confirmation email is received.Join leaders Jordan Paige and Will Miller to learn the basics of the eBird. We will go step-by-step from Start Checklist to Submit. We will then discuss shared checklists and how to view your own checklist on eBird.org We will also explore some of the other features of your personal eBird account. 1. Please download the eBird app to your phone before the field trip. 2. Open the app and create an account. You will establish a Username and Password. 3. Cornell will then send you a link to your email to activate your account. 4. You can then sign in and review your preferences You will probably want the following preferences: Species Name: Common Language: English Subspecies: off Distance: miles 5. Get a bird pack: Install the Idaho bird pack (If you have trouble with any of these steps, we will try to address the issue.)Birders of all skill level and experience welcome! The emphasis will be on familiarization with eBird.Binoculars will be available if needed.Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
