Question 1

What do I need in order to participate?

Accepted Answer

Proper Personal Protective Equipment for beekeeping including: sturdy closed toe shoes and a full bee suit OR loose-fitting light coloured clothing that has full coverage and a veil. Gloves are optional.

Question 2

May I participate if I have a known allergy to bee stings?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not. While Epi Pens will be available onsite in case of emergency, no one with a known allergy or having had a previous anaphylactic reaction to a bee sting may participate in the program.

Question 3

What are the criteria to participate?

Accepted Answer

Participants must be at least 18 years of age, with no known allergy to bee stings, and be physically capable of walking on uneven ground, lifting and holding up to 30 lbs, and spending time outside in the summer.
