Join Rebecca and Elizabeth, aka team “Las Canastas”, to explore the age-old craft of basket twinning! In this class, participants will be making 'garlic keeper' baskets, approximately 4” tall and 4” wide. The instructors will guide you through the process of laying out a base, pairing, twinning, and creating a rolled rim, and participants can choose to create a hanger for your keeper with an assortment of cords and beads from ACR.
Your first garlic keeper will be a much-added treasure for your kitchen and to your crafting skill set! With these new skills you will be able to twine a variety of materials including string, wire and even grapevine!
Participants do not need to be familiar with any basket weaving or twining skills- the instructors will help you with all necessary techniques to complete this one-of-a-kind piece. After this workshop, you will never look at woven baskets the same! You will enjoy picking them up and determining techniques and materials as well as their complexities. Come create with us!
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.
