The Faight

<p>Acroyoga is a partner acrobatics practice with at least two people, a base (a person supporting other people) and a flyer (a person who the base is supporting). It's a practice that builds strength, flexibility, confidence, and communication. It's an excellent complement to yoga, or any other movement practice.</p><p>In this beginner level class, we'll cover some poses and transitions that are essential for the acroyoga practice. There is no need to attend with a partner, you will be grouped with other students during class. No prior yoga or movement experience required. Acro is for every-BODY!</p><p></p><h3>A﻿bout the teachers</h3><p></p><h3>R﻿ebecca Gilbert</h3><p>I started practicing acroyoga in 2016 and found so much joy in the playfulness of the practice that I was hooked. Acroyoga has improved my strength, flexibility, confidence, and communication, but more than anything, it constantly makes me feel childlike wonder &amp; amazement of what our bodies are capable of. From flying on someone's feet to supporting someone else in the air, acro taught me that we are so much stronger than we know.</p><p>In my classes, I aim to create a fun &amp; playful environment where students feel comfortable challenging themselves to try something new. I received my teacher training certification through Lux's Seattle Acro training. When my feet aren't in the air, you can find me climbing, dancing, or wandering in nature.</p><h3>J﻿uan Borbon</h3><p>Juan is a certified Acrolove teacher who recently made the move from New Orleans to San Francisco. Now that he calls SF home, Juan is excited to share his passion for acro with a new community. He believes that the practice has the power to transform both the body and mind, and he can't wait to help others discover its many benefits. Juan first discovered acroyoga several years ago and was immediately drawn to the combination of strength, balance, and grace required to practice the art. As someone who also loves to solve complex problems, he was thrilled to discover that acro also requires a significant amount of mental focus and strategy. When he's not practicing acroyoga or working as a robotics engineer, Juan enjoys exploring all that the Bay Area has to offer. He loves trying new restaurants, biking, and spending time outdoors.</p>
