Befriending Breakups

We believe that women’s friendships have the power to transform communities. At The Matchstick Collective, we host intensive workshops and gatherings for women and femme-identified adults to build skills that elevate friendships. Co-founders Kimberly Polsen, LPC and Jenna Lee Mathews, LCSW have both felt the transformative effects of being in community with women who empower and support each other through direct communication, honesty, and trust. We have learned through experience that powerful friendships help us to grow into the best version of ourselves and women in community, rather than competition, are a force to be reckoned with.

Our Befriending Breakups workshop can help!  We know what it’s like to outgrow a friend or to feel used or misunderstood. Using our training as therapists, we can support you in resolving conflict and parting ways so that you can make room for new friendships. We know this can feel risky, but we trust (from personal experience) that beginning this process will be so worth it. And we've got your back!

About our Befriending workshop series:
As therapists, we know that meaningful friendships don't form overnight but that friendship among womxn can be powerful and life-changing. Still, there are many challenges to forming healthy and supportive relationships; our goal is for all womxn to have the tools they need to form the friendships that they want. Our Befriending workshop series covers topics that enrich and strengthen friendships, empower community among womxn, and challenge systems of oppression.
