A new solo show from the creative team behind The Mushroom Cure ("Mines a great deal of laughter from disabling pain" -NY Times)
From the creators of The Mushroom Cure (“Mines a great deal of laughter from disabling pain” -New York Times), Before I Forget is the ferociously funny true tale about the impossibility of getting life right, told by a man trying to outrun his genes, his past, and his search history. Artificial intelligence, Ancient Greece, Alzheimer’s disease, and (of course) mushrooms all collide in a wildly inventive odyssey through memory, mortality and meaning.
“Fantastic show – a tour de force! Hilarious and deeply moving.”
– Michael Pollan
“Brilliant! Adam Strauss is an art form of his own… And I haven’t even mentioned the huge, room-rocking ending that uses a live AI therapist.”
– Theatrius
“Captivating… Strauss is so funny and engaging that… you feel the ancient thrum of humanity, the magic of oration, the art of public honesty.”
– San Francisco Gazetteer
NOTE: Doors open 30 minutes before showtime, first-come, first-served seating. One drink minimum per person.
Directed and developed by Jonathan Libman.
Produced by Carl Ford.
Written and performed (and lived) by Adam Strauss.
