Description

This University-wide doctoral induction session will introduce new starters to the life of a SHU doctoral researcher and provide orientation on a number of key elements relating to doctoral study. The programme includes:

  • What is Doctoral Research,
  • Research Ethics and Integrity,
  • The RFs – Progression Processes,
  • Doctoral Skills Training,
  • Building the Doctoral School Community,
  • Getting the Most Out of Supervision,
  • Library Support for Researchers

All new-starting PhD and Professional Doctorate researchers at Sheffield Hallam University are expected to attend.

Please complete our online Ethics 1 course before attending the event (via blackboard). This will provide you with the background information necessary to engage in the ethics session.
