Dive into an evening of stunning architecture!
Beaux Arts Twilight
Join us for an evening walk through some of Washington’s most beautiful Beaux Arts spaces as the city shifts into twilight. Beginning at Folger Shakespeare Library, we’ll explore select areas of D.C. shaped by the grandeur, symbolism, and civic ambition of Beaux Arts architecture. Along the way, we’ll discuss the stories behind the buildings, the people who commissioned them, and the architectural details most pedestrians miss.
The tour draws in part from the architectural scholarship of Pamela Scott and Antoinette J. Lee in Buildings of the District of Columbia, offering a thoughtful but accessible look at how D.C.’s built environment was designed to communicate culture, permanence, and public life.
Expect an easygoing evening of architecture, history, conversation, and a renewed appreciation for the city at dusk.
