Join us at Ten Thousand Villages to create your own Batik art project!

Batik is a special fabric-dyeing art form that has been practiced for over 2,000 years in countries around the world. Hot wax is painted or stamped onto to fabric and then the fabric is dyed. The areas that have been covered in wax resist the dye, leaving behind patterns in the fabric.

We’ve put a kid-friendly spin on this ancient art form! Using washable glue, repurposed cotton cloth, and paint, children will create their own vibrant fabric Batik to take home.

This free event is recommended for children over the age of 5; younger children may require adult assistance. You do not need to reserve a specific time slot, simply stop by between 12:00-3:00!
