BEARADIGM SHIFT marks the central change in approach and energy flow to this building, this hood and this city. Each one of us bears the powers of intention and action that subtly create culture. What happens inside this and every space radiates well beyond its walls. When our quest is to innovate and replace the usual ways of thinking or doing we must raise the vibration. Balance and impact have to be carefully considered when building proper connections for all to belong and evolve. So get in shape if you’re gonna be a shifter because everything matters to matter. Artist: Tara Logston Phoenix-based artist whose artwork often addresses spirituality, consumerism, and the environment through a profound use of bears puns. She’s been a practicing Theosophical Chela and Sahaja Yogi for over a decade. You can see more of her work at www.bearmy.com__________________________________BEARADIGM SHIFT is the first installation in the new Fruit Loop Gallery at monOrchid.Fruit Loop Gallery:Enter the artistic universe of Monorchid through the Fruit Loop, an immersive and experiential, 360-degree art installation at the building’s newly constructed entrance. The Fruit Loop transforms quarterly with the creative genius of a different local, regional or national artist. It was fondly named to pay homage to Phoenix&#x27; queer history. The Fruit Loop: Long before drag-performance-art became a part of mainstream pop-culture, it could be found in dive bars on the fringe of Downtown Phoenix. Originally coined by police officers working the area, the Fruit Loop spanned Roosevelt and Portland streets between First and Third streets. “It was home to Diana Ross-inspired drag shows of lip synchers in sequins -- queens, transsexuals, and aspiring art connoisseurs abounded.” (<a href="https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/arts/fruit-loop-run-tours-downtown-phoenixs-gay-landmarks-6570781" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jessica Hilliard of Phoenix New Times</a>) Arguably one of the more famous Fruit Loop regulars, artist Ted DeGrazia was once rumored to have covered a bar tab by bartering to paint a mural inside the bar.
