About this event

  • 2 hours

Is puberty just around the corner for your daughter, or is she in the throes of it now and you are struggling to have conversations with her? If so, this workshop is for you!

During this two hour experience, you and your daughter will learn about puberty and have an opportunity for sharing stories.

Mothers, you will have time to journal and reflect based on guided questions. You’ll also have an opportunity to speak with each other and Kara about questions or concerns you have.

Children will receive a lesson about puberty from Kara, and participate in activities including creating a baggie with supplies and making an identity collage.

We’ll also come together to learn and share.

This is a time to care for one another, learn about available resources, and open the door to conversations you can have at home and practice daily.

Lesson Objectives

  • Learn why and how puberty starts in the body
  • Name the parts of the reproductive system typically found in the XX body
  • Learn how to care for a menstrual cycle with options and use, as well as types of garments to wear for breast care
  • Name how emotions play a role in puberty and how relationships can change

Please bring a journal or notebook for yourself and your child for this time together. Note the ticket pricing is per pair.

Cancellations more than 24 hours in advance will be offered a credit for a future class. No shows will support sliding scale workshops for future participants.
