Kinship Community Food Center operates an urban farm! Each year, during the growing season they grow and harvest thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables - all of which are offered for FREE at their food pantry, open Tuesdays and Saturdays at St. Casimir Church at 2600 N. Bremen in Milwaukee.
Farm work is not possible without the help of farm volunteers like YOU. Activities CAN include preparing new plants in the greenhouse, planting, harvesting, weeding and more!
Please keep in mind the following:
- Rain or shine!
- Activities will involve a lot of bending and stretching, must be in good physical condition.
- Dress appropriately for working outdoors according to the day's weather forecast. Layers are recommended, as is clothing that allows maximum flexibility.
- A hat is highly recommended when working outdoors.
- No open toed shoes or sandals are allowed.
- Bring along portable water bottle that you can carry along.
- Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Chaperones must also fill out a volunteer application.
Light refreshments will be provided by Outpost! Carpool if you can!

Traveling North on I43
- Exit Capitol Drive East
- Travel to Port Washington Rd.
- Turn left (south) and travel about 3/4 mile
- Look for the Maglio canning facility on the left side of the road
You can also exit at Hampton
- Exit I43 Hampton
- Turn right at the signal onto Port Washington Rd. and travel about 1/4 mile
- Look for the Maglio canning facility on the right side of the road
Traveling South on I43
- Exit Silver Spring using the Port Washington Road East lanes
- Turn right (south) onto Port Washington Rd. and travel about 1 mile
- Cross Hampton and travel over the Milwaukee River and travel 1/4 mile further
- Look for the Maglio canning facility on the right side of the road
