BCoS Alumni Fireside Chat is a community event hosted by the Berkeley Club of Singapore. As an alumni club, BCoS aims to create a supportive environment where alumni from all years and backgrounds can engage in constructive dialogue to learn from one another.

Panelists

Xin Ying Tok

Xinying Tok is Head of South East Asia at the Carbon Trust. She has over 15 years’ experience working as a banker, an ESG consultant, and a philanthropic grantmaker for climate change. She has worked with large institutional investors to collaboratively engage with Asian utilities, banks and real estate companies and funds on energy transition, TCFD and ESG issues across China, Japan and Southeast Asia. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2004.

David Ng

David is a two time founder of VC backed B2B startups in Asia, currently focused on reducing business waste as a co founder of Singapore based Pollen. Previously, he led an international business development team for a China listed tech firm in the US. He grew up and was educated in California with degrees from UC Berkeley and Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.

Rob Kaplan

Rob is Founder and CEO of Circulate Capital. He established Circulate Capital to invest in partnership with leading corporations and investors to deliver financial returns, advance the circular economy, fight climate change, and prevent the flow of plastic waste into the ocean in high growth markets. Circulate Capital backs innovators in South & Southeast Asia and Latin America that implement solutions on the ground, relies on partnerships with global corporations to leverage their supply chains to drive scale, and incentivizes the next generation of entrepreneurs in sustainability. Rob received his MBA from the Haas School where he studied marketing, corporate responsibility, and social entrepreneurship.
