Our Comfort Measures for Pregnancy and Labor class has been created to give you an opportunity to learn, participate and practice various comfort measures and labor positions that you can use for your pregnancy and upcoming birth.
In this class 2 hour in-person class you will learn:
- Movements and habits you can incorporate into your daily or weekly routines during pregnancy to stay comfortable and also help prepare your body for labor.
- Things you can do as your due date nears or if you're facing an impending induction.
- Comfort measures and hands on practice with positions to help you and your partner feel more prepared for the various phases and stages of labor and birth.
- How to use breathing techniques, movement, touch and connection to help you manage and cope with the intensity of labor.
- Mental and emotional preparation techniques.
- Tools and skills that can be helpful to both you and your partner whether you are planning an unmedicated or medicated birth.
- How to create a positive, calm and comforting birth environment.
- Special considerations for induction, epidural and prodromal labor.
- Answers to your questions and concerns.
Our class instructors are birth doulas and educators that will teach you how to use various props including a birth/yoga ball, bolsters, pillows, chairs and more. BBC will provide the materials and props needed to use during class.
We encourage you to wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring a water bottle with you if you like.
