What is Alpha Forum?

Alpha Forum is a monthly mentorship program for young men of color ages 10–18, offered in partnership with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The program focuses on leadership development, brotherhood, STEM activities, and career exploration in a safe and supportive environment.

When and where does Alpha Forum meet?

Alpha Forum meets once a month on the third Thursday at the Eastside Community Center from 6:00–7:30 p.m.

Who can participate?

The program is open to young men of color ages 10–18. Participants should be willing to engage respectfully, participate in group activities, and commit to positive growth.

Is this a drop-off program?

Yes. Alpha Forum follows a parent/guardian drop-off and pick-up model. Parents are expected to drop off their youth at the start of the session and return promptly for pick-up at 7:30 p.m.

Is food provided?

Yes. A meal is provided at every session. Please note any allergies or dietary needs during registration so we can plan accordingly.

What kinds of activities will participants do?

Each session includes a mix of:

Mentorship and group discussions

STEM-based, hands-on activities

Career exploration and exposure

Brotherhood-building and leadership development

Activities are age-appropriate and designed to encourage confidence, teamwork, and curiosity.

Mentors include trusted community leaders and members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a historically Black fraternity with a long-standing commitment to service, leadership, and youth development.

Alpha Forum is free to attend, but registration is highly encouraged.
