This course is the second part of our basics welding series.

PRE-REQUISITE: Basics: Welding - Part 1 OR previous hands on experience with welding

The Basics series classes run 45 minutes to 1 hour and covers basic safety and operations of tool and/or equipment instruction. This will provide all the information needed to be certified on using the equipment at Lacey MakerSpace. For more in-depth project based hands-on instruction, we offer workshops and one-on-one mentoring.

In this hands-on welding class, we will do simple welds and learn introductory methods for welding two pieces of steel together. We ask for donation to cover consumables but it is not required for LMS members.


  • Closed toe shoes are required.
  • Pants. No shorts, no synthetic materials (Preferable: jeans, leathers, cotton)
  • Ages 12 and up can attend. Attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian present at all times
  • Additional PPE will be provided (leather jackets, gloves, welding helmets, etc.)



Waivers must be signed before class. Can be done in person or online here

Class refund policy:

- 7 calendar days or more before the class start date: Refunds will be given, minus a 10% service fee (Eventbrite fees non-refundable)

- 6 calendar days to 2 days before class start date: Refunds, minus a 10% service fee, will be issued in the form of a credit voucher to be applied to a future offering within 1-year of the issue date.

- No refunds issued within 48 hours of any class offering.
