Basic Monoprinting Techniques

IN-PERSON WORKSHOP:

Join artist Emily Slaughter as she introduces us to the printmaking technique of Monoprinting. Monoprinting is a printmaking technique that allows artists to create unique one-of-a-kind prints. Unlike other forms of printmaking where a single block can create multiple copies, monoprinting relies on its singular nature to create a new piece of artwork each time you print. Join us for an afternoon to learn about and try out a few basic monoprinting techniques that can get you started in your printmaking journey! All registered participants will walk away with their own unique prints created during the workshop!

All supplies will be provided. We will be using gel plates and pieces of acrylic, as well as acrylic paint and paper for printing. There will be a variety of brushes and palette knives to use, pieces of paper for stencils, as well as some string and other objects to experiment with.

ABOUT EMILY:

Emily is a self taught multi-media artist and one of the managers at Plaza Art – Towson. She has enjoyed working with a variety of different mediums over the years, but is particularly fond of linoleum printing and oil painting at this time in her life. She loves experimenting with and developing new techniques to channel her creativity, and is so excited to share it with you!
