About this event
This is a continuation of our Basic Italian Level I course and follows the communicative approach by improving grammar skills and concepts that are integral in communication. You will continue to expand your communication skills in varying situations and improve your overall understanding of the language. The course is structured to ensure the concepts learned in the beginning are reinforced with each subsequent class to enhance language retention.
Week 1: How to book a hotel room, or air bnb in Italy. Use irregular verbs (essere, avere, andare). Ask about some points of interest. Expand vocabulary knowledge.
Week 2: At the airport in Italy. Ask directions to local transportations, downtown, and to the hotel. Expand verbs’ knowledge in communication (irregular verbs potere, dovere).
Week 3: How to book an excursion in the historical area center and in the outskirts (outdoor adventure) (regular verbs -are/—ere/-ire)
Week 4: Not feeling well during a vacation in Italy. How to ask for a doctor, hospital, emergency. Know parts of the body to explain symptoms. Reflexive verbs.
Week 5: making plans to meet your Italian friends on another trip. Use of the verb and are and the future tense.
