Basic Gunshot Wound First Response

The goal of the Basic GSW workshop is to increase someone's chance of survival from physical injury and decrease impact of emotional injury. Offered in-person only. Key topics include:

• UMedics' General Principles of First Aid
• Tactical awareness
• Treating Wounds without a Kit
• Intro to Tourniquets
• Emotional Aspects of Community Care Response
• Calling 911
• Safety and de-escalation with police
• Community care application to GSW response

Dinner will be provided, and a circle will be facilitated during the last few minutes of the workshop.
