Basic Foundational Skills Course, 6 weeks
Overview
This Basic Foundational Skills Class teaches attendents how to effectively communicate with their dog. Learning basic dog body language communication, teaching their dog how to respond to requests, and working toward building a bond out of trust, love, and respect for each other.
Attendies will learn:
- Loose leash Walking
- sit, down, stay, come when called, not running out an open door
- leave it and impulse control
- distraction, duration, and distance with cues
- generalization
- proofing cues
Requirements:
- access to the google classroom platform
- submitted proof of Vaccinations and signed registration form and liability waiver.
- Dog attending should be 6 months or older.
- winter classes will be only held at Paws Please.
Enjoy fun learning with your dog in our Basic foundational skills group classes, once a week, 45 minutes each class. Get printed handouts, video references for skills we are learning in class, a link to Google classrooms for homework during the week and weekly discussions with Catherine and classmates.

Class dates: January 29, February 5,12,19, 26, March 5
Items needed:
- A Bed, blanket, or yoga mat for your dog. small raised bed is also allowed and recommended. Please remember to have this each class.
- Variety of Treats. Ranging from high value to low value (see second sheet). The first 2 classes you will be doing a lot of treat giving please make sure your treats appropriate for quick delivery and chewing as well as the amount of treats. As the classes progress your rate of reinforcement will change as well as what your reinforcement is will changes.
- 1-3 toys
- Quick delivery treat pouch
- Harness and 4ft or 6 ft leash, No retractable leashes in class.
- Water, water dish, and waste bags.
- 1 -3 no touch items - socks, flip flops, shoes, paper, etc.
