The Chattery cultivates and fosters a community of learners and teachers through fun, affordable and accessible learning experiences throughout Chattanooga.As a nonprofit, The Chattery brings an unlimited variety of classes to our community ranging from the arts to financial planning.  We not only serve as ambassadors who bring awesome classes and workshops to Chattanooga but we’re also helping cultivate and encourage your passions.In other words, our classes are dreamt up and taught by you, a member of our community.All classes are for adults aged 18 and up unless otherwise noted.

Celebrate the holidays by learning to create a festive Christmas cake adorned with a beautiful wreath and holiday decorations. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced decorators alike, guiding you through essential cake-decorating techniques to craft a stunning, seasonal centerpiece.What You’ll Learn:<ul><li>Crumb Coating: Apply a smooth layer of frosting for a seamless base.</li><li>Leveling the Cake: Ensure your cake layers are perfectly even for a professional finish.</li><li>Buttercream Techniques: Mix and apply a vibrant green buttercream and learn piping techniques to create detailed holiday decorations.</li><li>Wreath Design: Master piping intricate holly leaves, berries, and other festive elements to form a decorative wreath on the cake.</li><li>Decorative Toppers: Add charming elements like gold and red beads and holiday-themed toppers to enhance your design.</li><li>Stacking &amp; Filling: Construct a sturdy and delicious cake, ready for decorating.</li><li>Final Touches: Complete your cake with a smooth outer layer and elegant details that evoke holiday cheer.</li></ul>Take Home: By the end of the class, you’ll have your very own holiday-themed cake, ready to be the centerpiece at your next gathering or to bring joy as a beautiful seasonal treat!Please note: Tickets sales end 48 hour in advance.About the teacher:Marckita Wilkes is a third generation baker. She has been a full time baker since 2019. She inherited the family baking recipes from her late mother and grandmother.
