Basic Arrhythmia Survival Skills Session welcomes you!

Session runs from 0900 to 1500

Prairie Lakes Healthcare System in MOB Conference Center in MOB lower level

This classroom-based, Instructor-led by JoAnn Rosenbaum RN course covers basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements, and basic arrhythmias. The course offers hands on practice with rhythm strip interpretation.

The Core Objectives:

• Provide a foundational knowledge of basic anatomy

• Describe the relationship of the conduction system to this basic anatomy

• Relate the electrophysiology of the cardiac electrical activation and current conduction to the surface electrocardiogram

• Understand how to recognize the normal electrocardiogram and make basic measurement

• Recognize and identify basic arrhythmia

Pre-session work to aid in being successful includes reading and reviewing:

ECG Interpretation made Incredibly Easy!

 Part 1 ECG Fundamentals

 Part 2 Recognizing arrhythmias

This Basic Arrhythmia Course focuses on the essential information you need to know to interpret ECGs and understand their significance. We will cover a lot of material in a short time; you will need to prepare for the course beforehand.

The ECG Interpretation made Incredibly Easy Manual is available for rental/purchase from Dory’s office for $39. You will need to prepare for the course.

This Basic Arrhythmia Course does not teach ACLS algorithms or pharmacology information.

Bring your manual to class. Please come in scrubs or business casual with closed toed shoes to facilitate professional learning environment. Lunch will be on your own.
