The Friends of Dunns Creek State Park (Friends) would like to introduce you to one of Florida's most beautiful state parks. Located in Pomona Park, Florida off Sisco Road, Dunns Creek State Park is truly a natural gem. Its natural resources include 6,300 acres with diverse topography supporting 21 vibrant natural communities teaming with over 33 designated plant and animal species.

The park officially opened to the public on January 1, 2016. Currently the park has a trail system with four blazed trails for hiking, cycling and equestrian use. The park is laced with miles and miles of beautifully maintained service roads for those interested in trail blazing the hills, valleys and ravines on their own. Nestled along the Dunns Creek Paddling Trail, the park also provides access to the extensive local trail networks including the Bartram Trail and the Putnam County Blueway. It is also a popular paddle destination. Visitors can either visit the park during their paddle or launch from the recently installed, ADA-compliant kayak launch, a rare feature in northeast Florida. Local anglers delight in the park’s fishing dock, offering some great fishing opportunities. Future development will include full facility, separate campgrounds for regular and equestrian campers, a dock for motorized boats and additional trails. In the meantime, Friends stages their events on the creek side, park-like grounds.

The Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail is a 19-mile paved trail that runs from East Palatka to Vermont Heights in St. Augustine. The trail is a part of the St. Johns River to Sea Loop, an evolving 260-mile loop trail that connects five Florida counties. The trail is also part of the Florida East Coast Greenway.
