BART SBE/DBE/LGBT BUSINESS CONNECT
BART first launched its Small Business Program for non-federally funded contracts in September of 2011. The program provides a 5% bid preference for qualified small businesses primes and on larger contracts for bidders that meet a small business subcontractor participation goal.
In September 2017 the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) Board of Directors approved the inclusion of LGBT-certified businesses in its competitive bidding programs. This program specifically highlights the inclusion of LGBT businesses in the Santa Clara, Peninsula, San Francisco, East/North Bay and Sacramento areas.
