The Sidekick Troupe presents the unofficial unauthorized screen-to-stage parodies of Barbie's Princess & the Pauper and The Three Musketeers.
The Unofficial Unauthorized Screen-to-Stage Parody of Barbie's Princess & the Pauper (P&P)
Anneliese and Erika couldn't be more different from each other. Anneliese is a princess with the responsibilty of the kingdom on her shoulders, and Erika is a pauper stuck working off her parents debt. But when this princess and pauper cross paths, they realize they look identitical and that are more alike than they think. When the Princess gets kidnapped, Erika has to fill in for her new friend as the Princess so an important monarchy-combining wedding with the neighboring King still occurs. As Anneliese struggles to return home, Erika struggles with the responsibilities of royal life. Through many twists and turns each of them finds out that there is a balance between duty and passion and that one must be true to themselves to truly be free.
Les Femmes Mousqutaires (also known as The Three Musketeers) (LFM)
Corinne dreams of being a Musketeer and protecting France’s royalty, just like her father, D'artagnan. She travels to Paris to pursue her dream but when she gets there she finds that they will not let women be musketeers. Not one to be easily deterred, she bands together with three other women who share her dream, secretly training to be the next musketeers and uncovering a plot against the prince of France. This musical parody is a commemerative jukebox of classic Barbie music from our childhood celebrating all the silly and heartfelt things we love about Barbie.
