Banjer Dan
Overview

BanjerDan brings banjo-driven Americana to Willits! An intimate evening of bluegrass, roots, stories, and jaw-dropping musicianship.

Join us for a lively and intimate evening with BanjerDan, a banjo-centric acoustic musician whose performances blend bluegrass, Americana, storytelling, and pure joy in unexpected ways.

With over 40 years on the road and a songbook of more than 300 tunes, BanjerDan turns the five-string banjo into a full storytelling orchestra. His shows move effortlessly between straight-ahead bluegrass, roots music, original compositions, and surprising stylistic detours, all delivered with warmth, humor, and deep musical skill.

This performance is designed for a quiet, close-listening room, making the Willits Community Theatre the perfect setting. Depending on the room, the show may be largely unamplified or use minimal sound, creating a rare chance to hear the banjo as it was meant to be heard: direct, resonant, and alive in the space.

BanjerDan’s career has taken him across the U.S. and overseas, with appearances at major festivals and venues including the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Opryland USA, and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival. He has also shared the stage with artists from across the Americana and bluegrass world and has been selected by the U.S. Department of State to perform internationally.
