Artascope is a 501(c)(3) organization that raises money for experiential education programs by offering art classes and studio memberships in Yarmouth, Maine. We provide a relaxed, supportive environment to the broader community where individuals can share their work, ideas, and discoveries with one another. Located at 138 Bayview Street, Yarmouth, ME.

Metalsmithing at Artascope

Our instructors can help you learn the basics of working with metal. Not ready for the torch? Try a class that features cold connections, like riveting and wire wrapping. Interested in the finer points of soldering? Try one of our intermediate series.

<h3>Saturday, November 8th from 1:30PM-7:30PM</h3>Learn the basics of metalwork. Participants will learn to shape, hammer, and solder metal to create unique and stylish bangles. Through guided instruction and hands-on experience, participants will gain the confidence and skills to create jewelry pieces with beautiful dangles to add a touch of glamour to any outfit. All tools and safety equipment will be provided. The $35 materials kit includes silver, brass, and copper. Participants will leave with a beautiful set of handmade bangles and the knowledge to make more.$99 workshop fee does not include materials.NOTE: Eventbrite charges non-refundable processing fees for online payments and now displays these fees in the total ticket price shown on this event listing.The materials kit is $35 and can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop.(For safety, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.)We will have a 20-minute break, so feel free to bring a snack.About the instructor: Laura Jamison of LJ Studios Metalsmith is an instructor from New Hampshire.
