Band Saw Basics - Tips & Tricks!

The bandsaw is one of the most versatile machines in the shop. We will begin at “step 1” with band saw setup and tune-up. Wheel alignment, blade selection, blade installation, cool blocks vs bearing guides and fine tuning will all be covered. Each student will do a setup and then cut a perfect veneer. DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THIS CLASS! It is a MUST-TAKE for anyone – beginner or old-timer that uses this great machine. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions Apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases.
