The Birthplace of American Music Festival pays homage to its roots of American music by showcasing Blues and it legacy, while also showcasing its fruits thru the legends it has created and the different genres of music it produced. This festival in its full capacity will also provide resources and initiatives to help better the community in the INVEST fest. The Juneteenth INVEST fest will not only entertain but INVEST - Invoke New Visions Ever Since Today - in the city & world & introduce the raising talents of our era & area.
That’s right, the Birthplace of American Music & INVEST festivals will be Father’s Day Weekend, Saturday June 15th in Downtown Clarksdale. The Birthplace of American Music Festival takes place in over 10 venues. Some of the past & present venues included Delta Blues Alley Café, Red's Juke Joint, Pete's Grill, Messengers, Buster's Down-home Blues Club, Delta Byrd Cage, Bad Apple Blues Club, Blues Berry Café, Hookers, the Griot, Levon's, Gentlemens, Blues Alley 's Lounge, Crossroad's Cultural Art Center & more with over 40 artists performing annually. Some of those artists included the legends of American Music & their Legacy like Ike Turner Jr & the Ikeettes, Southern blues soul sensation like J R Blu, local Blues Greats Terry 'Harmonica' Bean, Lucious Spiller & the Derrick Kemp band, Jordan Sledge & the NightCaster's, Big T & the Family, Frank Rimmer & Band, Earnest 'Guitar' Roy, The Southern Soul Band, Big A & the All-stars featuring Space Cowboy, Sean Bad Apple, & any more to name a few. The Juneteenth INVEST Fest takes place at Blues Alley across from the Delta Blues Museum & Morgan Freeman's Ground Zero Blues club @ the Delta Blues Alley Cafe's Wall of Legends. This portion of the BAM Fest is FREE to the public, with Live Entertainment, Vendors, Food, Fun for the kids & Free resources sponsored by the community for a better Clarksdale. After ...the Delta Blues Alley Block Party hosted by local radio station & disk jocks on Delta Ave. Come out to Empower Community & Celebrate Culture....This year we are partner with Higher Purpose to incorporate the Buy Black initiative for local vendors downtown.
