Welcome to Ballet Summer Camp at Piggy Hill Art Studio!
BEGINNER INTERMEDIATE ballet camp with Lillian Ortiz. Charging only $175 for the week (5 days of two hours a day) or ($35 for one, two hour class). Each day we will especially focus on the finer details of properly executing basic ballet steps, turns and jumps, use of the arms, and leg strengthening in the first hour, and in the second we will put our skills to use "in the center" focusing more on the aspects of artistry and performance.
Throughout the course of the week students can expect to receive enrichment in learning classical ballet's French terminology, learning a little bit about different classical ballets stories each day, and about their music and composers, and generally can plan on having a good time spinning, twirling, jumping, leaping, and sweating across the dance floor!
The week will culminate in learning a piece of classical choreography to dance to for fun.
Same as Friday drop-in classes:
Ballet or jazz shoes are recommended, and a basic knowledge of ballet and any prior experience will be helpful, but absolutely not required. All are welcome! Desiring for students to feel comfortable and confident while dancing, a more relaxed/recreational dress code is acceptable. Any color leotard OR fitted athletic shirt that fully covers the torso with leggings, joggers, or longer athletic shorts is suitable. Tights/ballet skirts are also optional for females.
Please bring water to drink!
